We were in southern Austria, Carinthia, to be exact. Mom had big plans to go to a nature center on a mountain that you get to by taking a ski gondola to the TOP. The nature center is on the TOP of the mountain. Like close to the sky. Supposedly it has amazing views and is really interesting. I wouldn’t know. Because we didn’t go. It wasn’t Mom’s fault. Well. Not all Mom’s fault.

See, there had been a HUGE storm recently and there were floods and landslides. And the storm broke the gondola. So the gondola was CLOSED! The nature center was closed too, because only some very brave people would walk all the way up. Somehow in all of Mom’s research, she missed this little bit of very important information! So the whole big adventure of the trip was a bust. We did other fun things. Like go to a Bunker Museum and explore the city of Klagenfurt.

We’ve been back to Carinthia a few times ... because it’s so pretty. And guess what. We STILL haven’t been to the nature center. Maybe next time.
